For Placement week I was sent to Townhill Community School.
It was a bit of a kerfuffle to begin with as I was only placed there at last minute and the teacher they put me with had run away! to the depths of the playground.
I was in a year 4 class and was only helping kiddies put up christmas decorations and help them with reading, I was also helping out the teacher with laminating and printing. I enjoyed it alot, I got on well with the children but also kept authority and I did raise my voice in some circumstances so the children knew I wasnt there to play with them.
I didnt get the chance to work in the foundation phase classes which was a bit dissappointing however I did have the oppotunity to watch the infant christmas production which I loved.
What I found in the year 4 class which was different to what i was used to was their use of the welsh language, they had specific welsh lessons but also at the beginning of the day they would take it in turns to use the interactive whiteboard to say what day it is today, what the weather is today, and what it was like yesterday. I also had to help the kiddies on the class computer and they learn to copy and paste pictures.
